Repetto Online Scavenger Hunt

Ballet flats are all the rave these past few seasons. I've got a very healthy collection of flats but recently noticed that I'm lacking in the department of more "traditional" ballet flats. So for 4 weeks now, I've been in search for Repetto flats, the queen of ballet flats.

Well it turned out to be much harder than anticipated:

  • The official Repetto site is totally useless unless you live in France or plan on visiting their store in Paris.
  • In the San Francisco area where I live, only a few stores carry Repettos, all with limited selections (FYI, they are Bloomingdales SF, Gimme Shoes, Rabat and Crimson Mim in Los Altos)
  • I discovered that Repettos are still handmade which means that not a lot of online stores carry them and if they do, no one carries the complete collection.

I was nearly going to settle for the up and rising London Sole or may be even French Sole but they don't stack up at any level - design, fit, comfort and artisan quality! Instead, I went on a painstacking scavenger hunt for where to buy Repetto online. Since it took so much time, I figure there must be many other fashionistas out there who are doing the same. Why not share my discoveries with everyone?

Gravity Pope

Gravity Pope has BY FAR the most extensive collection but totally overpriced because of the Canadian Exchange rate. Good news is that they are having a boxing day sale so their entire Fall Repetto collection is on sale!

Zoe

Next up is the totally chic online outpost of Zoe boutique. They've got some very unique styles that I wasn't able to find anywhere else and as far as I can tell, no excessive pricing markup.

Free People

Free people's shoe department is actually sprinkled with both Repetto ballet flats and boots. You just have to pick them out from the rest. Look for stuff in the $100-200 range. Wow and looks like they've already marked down all their shoes for after christmas sale!

ShoeFly

This Pacific Northwest mini shoe store chain also carries a decent collection of Repettos. I particularly like the ones below. Looks like you get 25% of on checkout if you use the coupon code TAKE25 on checkout.

Dandelion Feet

These guys come up first when you do a web search. They've got a decent selection of the basic styles. No sale.

La Garconne

Awesome site with great selection. http://www.lagarconne.com/store/designer.htm?sid=8...

Bird LA

This actually came up pretty recently on a Google search. Looks like a great selection too!

There's a bunch more sites that carry Repetto shoes but the selection is much more limited. Here they are:

So you're probably wondering which pair I bought, huh? I actually got these fabulous gold with black trim Mary Janes for $118 from Scout LA thanks to a tip from Jargol about their sale. I got them right before Christmas and am 100% satisfied with them.

I'd like to wrap up with a word about sizing. Repettos typically run small so I suggest ordering 1/2 size up. However, some styles do run true to size. If possible, call into the store and see if they're willing to measure the insole for you. That's probably the best way to ensure you get the right size.

Happy shoe shopping and Merry Christmas!

I bought a pair of Demeter's from Shoefly-- they were 30% off! I am normally a size 8, and the size 39 were a perfect fit. Hope this helps others out there who are wondering about sizing. Cute shoes!

i love repetto shoes!!! they are by far the best ballerina shoes out there as far as comfort. I was in Paris a couple months ago and bought a pair size 42. I'm usually a size 10 in US but they run a bit small. It looks like the only place that sells size 42 is in Paris. I checked all the websites above for size 42 but no luck. Anyone know?

Barefootess sells larger sized shoes but unfortunately, they stopped carrying Repetto :(

If I run across anything, I'll post back!

I work for this boutique Edge of Urge (I'm the website girl). We have a lot in our store, and we've been adding a few styles here and there online at edgeofurge.com (http://www.edgeofurge.com/boutique/shoes/womens/brands/repetto/all.php to be specific). Hope that helps some!

SaksFifthAve.com has the Repetto
Point-Toe Ballet Flats in Black Patent. I ordered the size 42/US 12. I was wondering if these will be a full size down, making them an 11. I could be OK with a half size, but not a full. Does anyone have any experience with this model?

Thanks for the list of sites! I'm in Canada so Gravity Pope is perfect- usually I can't get things without terrible exchange rates here!
Looks like the only sale pair in my price and size are the ones you got.
