Development Clothing Online Scavenger Hunt

Given the popularity of the Repetto online scavenger hunt report, I've decided to do a second installment based on the same format. This time, I've opted to go hunting for ultra-stylish pieces from Development Clothing by Erica Davies.

When Phillip Lim announced that he was moving to New York to start 3.1 Phillip Lim for Fall 2005, the news was bittersweet. On the one hand, we all knew he would churn out jaw dropping designs. On the other hand, is he just going to let the Development brand die?

Though Erica Davies first collection for Development in Spring 2006 was so-so, I was frankly just relieved that they didn't kill off the brand. But when I saw the lace inset dress below from the Fall 2006 collection, I'm convinced that Erica Davies is a force to be reckoned with!

Her specialty is ultra-chic one piece dresses that transcend day and night. In today's very crowded and increasingly pricey designer market, the fact that most Development dresses are priced under $400 is a relief.

Here are 2 of my favorites from the Spring 2007 line:

Development's separate pieces are equally gorgeous and wearable:

On to which online boutiques carry Development clothing....The most extensive collections come from Shopbop.com, Revolve Clothing & Net-a-Porter:

Shopbop.com

Revolve Clothing

Net-a-porter

Pink Mascara also carries a small collection of Development items. I'm a fan of this white Babydoll dress for $396.

Madison in Los Angeles & Factory People in Austin also have a very comprehensive selection.

Since I hate buying non-sale items, here are some stores with Development stuff on sale.

Anthropologie actually carries a decent selection of Development dresses. I love the plum colored bubble dress.

Blue Genes has a huge selection of sales items. Check out this white lace top for only $49!

Standard Style also has a great selection. This bubble chiffon top is on sale for $141.

Additional boutiques with Development merchandise are:
Le Train Bleu
Ami Ami
Miostile
Blaec
La Garconne
P.45

Your research is awesome! I love both your "scavenger hunt" series for both Repetto & Development stuff. Are you going to add more?

Do you happen to remember a dress by Development from the Spring 2006 collection that was a deep blue color and floor length with a netted weave neckline? It reminded me of a Grecian style dress with ornate details. I hope you know what I am talking about, anyways if you do, would you know anywhere to find it? I know it is wishful thinking, but I regret not buying it over a year ago!

Hi there!

Unfortunately, I don't recall that dress. One really good resource is to try http://shopstyle.com. They index lots of boutiques and there may be something in the sales racks. Good luck!

I love the dress at the top. Really cute. I saw Kelly Clarkston wearing her dress and looked really beautiful. Hautelook.com is having a sale on Development tomorrow. They have really great sales up to 75% off. I'm totally addicted.
